Professor Reza’s Talk at IMH Ceremony

On Thursday October 18, Professor Fazlollah Reza gave a lecture at a ceremony held at Adab Amphitheater hall in Isfahan. This talk was focused on mathematicians and the significance of the fundamental achievements.
This ceremony was organized by Isfahan Mathematics House with the cooperation of Isfahan Office of Education and over 400 of university faculty members, high school mathematics teachers, students and some parents took part in this ceremony.
A number of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran members and some of the province authorities were present in this gathering as well.
Professor Reza who puts Mathematics House as the monastery for the development of the intellect, recounting some of his memoirs on research and educational activities in a laboratory at MIT, and his visits with great scientists of the time such as Hilbert, Von Neumann, Wiener and Erdos, illustrated the difference between fundamental activities which focus on understanding and creativity and systematized formal activities which generally ignore the essence.
In his lecture, professor Reza appreciated Isfahan Municipality for its support and cooperation attitudes regarding Isfahan Mathematics House.
Comparing position of Isfahan Mathematics House among other fundamental scientific communities around the world, professor Reza confirmed that IMH activities are outstanding and of high level.
Prior to professor Reza’s talk, Dr Ali Rejali a member of IMH Scientific Committee introducing him, mentioned some of the common points between IMH activities and professor Reza’s activities and innovations in his own time which are of bilateral interests, his scientific thoughts despite the lack of scientific insight of that epoch in addition to considering fundamental issues in IMH research activities.
In the end Dr Rejali announced that Isfahan Mathematics House supports and welcomes any scientific group activity regarding fundamental researches.
A short biography of professor Reza from Wikipedia:
