SMF launches 2 awards for innovation in mathematics

Abdulsalam MAHMUD reports that “The Ferrand Prize for Educational Innovation in Mathematics” and “The D’Alembert Prize for the Dissemination of Mathematics to a Wide Audience”, have been instituted by the Mathematical Society of France. 

The Mathematical Society of France (SMF) has instituted two prizes for distinguishing remarkable actions in the service of pedagogy and the dissemination of mathematics.

The first one is: The Ferrand Prize for Educational Innovation in Mathematics.

While the second one is: The D’Alembert Prize for the Dissemination of Mathematics to a Wide Audience.

A statement issued by SMF indicates that the two prizes are worth €2,000 each, and are awarded every two years.

Part of the statement titled, “Prix d’Alembert – Jacqueline Ferrand Prize 2022”
Call for applications,” 
reads in part: “If you wish to highlight one of your actions (or a remarkable action by a third party), submit (or have submitted) an application before May 15th. More information: https://smf.emath.fr/appel-candidature-2022″.
